The Antelope Slot Canyon was created by water cutting through sandstone rocks. There are three sections to the Antelope Canyon, the Upper Canyon, Lower Canyon and a third section going down into Lake Powell. The Canyon is narrow from about 3 feet to 15 feet and around 120 feet deep. The opening at the top of the canyon is often narrower than at the floor. In general the light level in the canyon is rather low. Photos in this gallery are from the Upper Antelope Canyon.

DVD slide show is now available.

photorick > 09-VG7672 All visits to the Antelope Slot Canyon must be escorted by a guide. The tour is transported by open, four wheel drive trucks. The last 3 miles are across a sandy wash. The narrow entrance to the Upper Antelope Canyon is seen on the left side of the photo.
