Day 1, the old deck has already been removed and today we erect the posts that will support the deck.
The posts are up and the beams on both sides of the floor are up. The center post will be used as a crane to raise the main beam that will support the outer edge of the deck. That will be done the next day.
Day 2. The 16 foot lumber arrives
The long lumber is delivered most of the way to the back of the house.
The main beam is prepared and the hoist is assembled.
Hoist is bolted to post
Hoist cable goes through a pulley attached to the top of the post. 2X4s are added to the top of the post to raise the beam to the proper height.
Main beam is raised and some of the floor joists are installed.
